TMAC was founded upon the unquestionable belief that the key to gender equality is economic empowerment. So we have developed a platform that aims to promote #femalefounded companies, advocate for gender equalizing initiatives and provide an online space where indigenous women can sell their unique, handmade products to an international market.
To Make a Change is a movement about changing the world vision so that it accommodates the needs & views of women. We champion women working together to support each other. We find ways to highlight how we, as women, can spend our money consciously and use our words to empower other females.
To Make A Change evidences the work that we do as we meet women from all walks of life. We keep asking questions, we talk to people working on the ground who are in the know about what the best ways to improve the lives of women.
Every product sold by TMAC tells a story; about the woman who made it, place it comes from & the process involved in its creation. Each piece is a labour of love & a work of art, often taking weeks or months to create. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. A flash of colour that stands for ethical consumerism and female empowerment.
The TMAC Boutique was launched based on the believe that empowering women through market access is the most effective and sustainable way of creating positive change in people’s lives. In a world of hyper-consumerism, we believe in slowing things down and creating a connection between buyer and seller. We tell the stories of the origins of the beautiful items you are choosing to bring into your home, the women who make them and the far-off lands where they have come from.
We have built a bridge between women across the world to support each other – financially empowered women can now directly support women looking for financial stability and a means to provide for their families.
We purchase the products directly from the women at their asking price, ensuring the financial risk is on us and not them. The difference between this price and the price we sell at covers the cost of getting the products to market including; shipping costs, import duties, warehouse, packaging, marketing, insurance, customer service, staff & sales. The funds go towards helping our artisans grow their businesses through training, materials and tools.
